We, the communities of BISHOP MUGENDI SECONDARY SCHOOL
and St. MARTIN YOUTH TRAINING CENTRE
wish to extend a special Vote of Gratitude
to the SEELSORGEBEREICH HEROLDSBACH - HAUSEN of which WIMMELBACH, the hometown of Bro. Hans, is an integral part, for your consistent, generous, spiritual and financial support.
For more than 25years the parish priests and the parishioners have been in support of our Marist Mission in Kenya.
After the post-election violence in 2007-2008 and the prolonged periods of drought and ensuing periods of hunger, the challenges and difficulties turned into a blessing for both our technical school St. Martin and the Bishop Mugendi Secondary School as our unity was bonded together ever more strongly.
The second successive year, every week a YTC team of staff and apprentices cross the 25km from the island of Mfangano to BMSS on the shore of the mainland in Roo. We are working hand-in-hand to realize our twofold objective:
1. To renovate, renew and further develop BMSS
2. And to empower our apprentices of St. Martin YTC to practice and improve their skills through hand-on experience as masons, carpenters, plumbers, painters tailors and seamstresses.
Our gratitude goes out to each and everyone in the SEELSORGEBEREICH-HEROLDSBACH-HAUSEN for it is through your generous financial help that our dream towards ameliorating the chances of the marginalized youths in this remote region of Kenya becomes attainable. Needless to say that especially many teenage girls who would otherwise be exposed to an early or forced marriage and thereby continue to perpetuate poverty of the family and society are led, through education, to a more meaningful and dignified human family and social life.
Thank you! And God bless,
Bro. Elie and Bro. Hans
